Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

Spiritual Masters doesn’t argue. They don’t try to convince; they demonstrate. They say; come with me, I know a window from where you Can look into the open sky. Remaining closed in this dark room, how can I convince that there is open sky- infinite?

The Spiritual Masters are very, very particular about words – if they do use them, they use them very telegraphically.

This is what the man of the world has always said to the mystic: “Don’t talk nonsense. Be practical and talk the language that we understand”. Spiritual Masters says, “This is the way to know. We can’t explain it to you. It is so mysterious that it will be almost a profanity to bring it to your level. TRUTH can’t be brought to your level; the only way possible, the only way left, is that you can be brought to the level of TRUTH.

Remember, before you reach to the Real Master, to the authentic Master, to the SathGuru, you will come across many false Masters. So don’t get hooked. A Real Master dead is more potent than an unreal master alive. If you have been following a Real Master and the Master is no more, then it is the responsibility of the Master to send you to another Real Master so that your growth can continue. No Master can help you faster. This speed mania has to be dropped. There is no need. EACH STEP HAS TO BE ENJOYED AND CELEBRATED.

If a tree has to grow a hundred feet into the sky, it has to grow a hundred feet underneath the earth. Those roots take time. You don’t see the roots; roots are not visible. When you come to a Master, the Master sees your roots. He sees how many roots you have. If you suddenly grow too fast and the roots are not ready to hold you that big, you will fall down, you will topple down. You will not be able to grow at all. And once you have fallen down it is very difficult to get rooted again.

Spiritual Masters always demonstrate; they are very practical and scientific people. Scientific truth can be learned. You can go to a school; you can learn from a teacher. Religious truth can’t be learned. It has to be created, not learned. You cannot go to a teacher. It can’t be taught, there is no way to teach it. You will have to go to a Master not to a teacher.

Who is a Mast?

Om Sathguru Shri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

A Mast is a God-intoxicated soul. Such a person is often, in his own individual way, in earnest search of God, or Truth, as the unfailing inward directive power. He is sincerely and wholeheartedly devoted to the Truth as it comes to him; he is divinely mad in search of eternal values. He has decided to take stakes in his desire to realize God. Such a person is not mad in the ordinary sense; he is desperately in love with God, and is known as a MAST.

Sant Tukaram

Om Sathguru Shri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

Tukaram Maharaj (Dehu, near Pune)

Place your faith, love, heart, and devotion at the Guru’s feet, and you will easily find God. So worship the Guru, meditate on the Guru, for God is with the Guru. How often must I say it? Tuka says that when you remember the Guru’s name, you can find God in a forest or in a crowd of people.”

Sant Tukaram, on the GURU:

1) “HIS ways cannot be known”

The Guru is the supreme goal of the mantra So’ham and the form of So’ham. He is the movable and the immovable. He is the microcosm and macrocosm. He comes, as the human Guru, to grant his Shakthi to his people, his children, his own souls, dear devotees. He is the founder of the path of Siddhis.

His mind, habits, and behaviour are in no way ordinary. He is neither a man nor a woman. He is, simply the Guru. His body has been tempered in the flames of Kundalini yoga – the seven elements have become filled with Chith and Pranava – the primordial sound OM, has become So’ham and plays in his Pranava.

The power of the Guru’s Grace enters the disciple’s body in subtle form and does many great things.” Just as a tiny spark falls into grass and in no time becomes a blazing fire.

The mind that is continually resting in Brahman eventually becomes that.

YAMA, the Lord of death, says to his messengers: “This phenomenal world and I, are the one Lord God Vasudeva. Whoever has an unshakable feeling for the Lord fixed in the heart, then, O messengers, leave him alone and come away”

He who knows all this glory of manifestation as his own, who realizes the entire cosmos on his Self, is divine, even though thoughts may play in his mind.

A man who can see his own identity with the universe, this assembly of thirty six elements, which is perceived through the senses and which supports and sustains our life, saying, “This is my splendour and my glory,” will never lose his divinity and perfection. Even though he retains the mind’s tendency to see multiplicity and differentiation where non-duality and identity really exist, this perfection will not be disturbed.

God is not Truth: Truth is God.

Jean Caussade

Om Sathguru Shri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

Jean CaussadeGreen wood for the burning

When you throw a very dry piece of wood that will burn easily, on the fire, the flame seizes it at once and consumes it quietly and noiselessly. But if you throw green wood on the fire, the flame does not affect it except for a moment, and then the heat of the fire acting on the green wet wood makes it exude moisture and crackling sounds, and twists and turns it in a hundred different ways, until it has been made dry enough for the flame to take hold of it. Then the flame consumes it without effort or noise, but quietly.

This is an image of the action of divine love on souls that are still full of imperfections and the evil inclinations of Self-love. They must be purified, refined and cleared away and this cannot be achieved without hardship and suffering. Look upon yourself, then, as this green wood acted on by divine love before it is able to enkindle it, and consume it with its flames.

Control your taste. Control your talk.

Without the control of the senses, sadhana is ineffective. It is like storing water in a leaky pot. Of all the senses, first, if the tongue is conquered, victory is yours. When the tongue craves for a delicacy, assert that you will not cater to its whims.

If you persist in giving yourself simple food that is not savory or hot, but amply sustaining, the tongue may squirm for a few days, but soon it will welcome it. That is the way to subdue the temptation and overcome the evil consequences of it, being your master. Since the tongue is equally insistent on scandal and cheap talk, you have to curb that tendency too. Talk little. talk sweet. Talk only when there is a pressing need. Talk only to those to whom you must. Do not shout or raise your voice, in anger. It will lead to better public relations and less involvement in contacts and conflicts with others. You may be laughed at as a killjoy, but there are compensations enough for you. It will conserve your time and energy. You can put your inner energy to better use.

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

A Sathpurusha is essentially the Parameshwara, and is capable of anything. The devotee also possesses the state of Parameshwara. If the devotee strives sincerely in his pursuit of God, the Sathpurusha will do whatever it takes to get you there.

If you desire to have that Godhead, you have to serve the One who has already reached that state. Worship God, and God will help you. And thus you will raise yourself to a state even higher to that of Parameshwara.

Ways to endear the Guru and the Lord: A Good Life

We should always worship Him.

We should abide by Truth and Non-violence.

We should practise Charity.

We should seek the company of good men.

We should fulfill the duties imposed by our station in life.

We should not discard the practices laid down from ages past.

We should stay away from people who mean ill-will.

We should not lose faith with in our Guruji’s mantra.

We should not ridicule our Guru.

These will confer blessings in the present life and future.
