Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvaddikae

Atmaatwam girijamadhihi

Sahacharaah Praanath Sariram gruham,

Pujathee vishayobhogaachanaa

Nidraasamaadhi Sthithihi Sanchaarah pathayoho

Pradakshina Vidhihi Sthothrani sarvaagirah

Yadyatkarma Karomi

Thaththathakilam Sambo Thavaaraadanam”

Sri Thiruppugaz Swami (Sri Satchidananda Swamigal), who was blessed by Avathar Sri Seshadri Swamigal received this verse from Swami. It means that instead of doing pradakshinam, Sthuthi, puja, and the like…, it is better to immerse oneself in the thought that everything is a manifestation of Shiva-Shakthi which is the supreme soul.

Om Sathguru Shri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

Your reality is the Athma (God viewed as the particular), a wave of the Paramathma (God viewed as the universal). The one object of this human existence is to visualize that Reality, that Athma, – the relationship between the wave and the sea. All other activities are trivial; you share them with birds and beasts; but this is the unique privilege of man. He has clambered through all levels of animalism, all the steps in the ladder of evolution in order to inherit this high maturity. If his years between birth and death are frittered away in seeking food, shelter, comfort and pleasure as animals do, man is condemning himself to a further life sentence.

FOR, THE INDIVIDUAL AND THE UNIVERSAL ARE ONE; THE WAVE IS THE SEA. MERGING FULFILS. WHEN MERGED, THE EGO IS DISSLOVED; ALL SYMBOLS AND SIGNS OF THE PARTICULAR LIFE, NAME, FORM, CASTE, CREED, NATIONALITY, TEMPLE, CHURCH, MOSQUE, SECT AND THE RIGHTS AND DUTIES CONEQUENT THEREON, WILL FADE.

For such individuals, (Avathars and Sathgurus), who have liberated themselves from the narrowness of individuality, the only task is the upliftment of humanity, the welfare of the world, and the showering of love. Even if they are quiet, the state of bliss in which they exist, will shower bliss on the world. Love is in all, love is of all, and love is all.

When people forget the one and run after the many, Dharma declines; for there can be no love, no sacrifice, and no detachment in human affairs then. So, the Lord takes human form and comes to restore man’s sense of values. This is the Avathar.

The kinds of Love:

Like every great virtue, love, the mainspring of all life, can also be misapplied. It may lead to the heights of God-intoxication or the depths of despair. No better example can be given of the two polarities of love and their effects than that of Mary Magdalene, before and after meeting JESUS.

Between the two extremes are many kinds of love. On the one hand, love does exist in all the phases of human life; but here it is latent or is limited and poisoned by personal ambitions, racial pride, narrow loyalties and rivalries and by attachment to gender, nationality, sect, caste, or religion. On the other hand, pure and real love has also its stages, the highest being the gift of God to love HIM.

When one truly loves God, one longs for union with HIM, and this supreme longing is based on the desire of giving up one’s whole being to the beloved.

Divine Love is qualitatively different from human Love.

Human Love is for the many in the One and the Divine Love is for the One in the many. Human love leads to innumerable complications and tangles; but Divine Love leads to integration and freedom.

To those whose hearts are pure and simple, true love comes as a gift through the activating grace of a Perfect Master, and this Divine Love will perform the supreme miracle of bringing God into the hearts of men.

God listens only to the language of the heart, which constitutes Love.

We can love God by surrendering to the Perfect Master who is God’s personal Manifestation. We can also love God by loving our fellow-beings, by giving them happiness at the cost of our own happiness, by rendering them service with the sacrifice of our interests and by dedicating our lives at the altar of selfless service.

When we love God intensely through any of these channels, we finally know HIM to be our own Self.

Om Sathguru Shri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

When you are qualified to receive the Holy Grace, when there is enough space in your heart to contain and cherish the Lord, He becomes pleased with you and then He enters and settles down in your heart in the form of happiness!

That is the Prasaadam!

He performs some good or bad actions, for your benefit, in a visible or invisible way.

If a devotee is troubled, or yearns for His guidance, then the SathGuru appears in his dream, guides him, advises him and reassures him. Sometimes in a dream He even is angry with the devotee, or admonishes or strikes him, (of course, for the devotee’s welfare!)Any such experience in a dream, or in a secret manner, or an actual Darshanam (manifestation) is also regarded as His Prasaadam.

Similarly if He abuses you outright, strikes, or, throws something at you, or talks to you sweetly and advises you, or by simple looking at you suggests an idea within your mind, then you can be well assured that you have His Prasaadam!
