Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae
Bhakthi denotes one-pointed devotion to God. Some people are devoted to God in order that He may confer various material gifts on them. But this is not really bhakthi.
Bhakthi denotes that your heart hungers only for the divine, for union with divine, and through such union to get eternal bliss and peace. Into this ocean of divine existence you have to merge yourself, just as a drop falling into the ocean becomes the ocean itself. So your little self dissolves in the universal self and becomes that universal Self itself. The intellect can understand only things that are physical and which are subject to change and ultimate dissolution. But the truth that we have to realize is eternal and therefore cannot be comprehended by it.
WHEN YOUR REASONING FACULTIES AND ALL MOVEMENTS OF THE BODY ARE COMPLETELY AT A STANDSTILL YOU REALISE IT.
A surgeon uses a knife and a villain also uses a knife. The surgeon’s use of the knife is for the good of his patient, but the villain uses the knife for an evil purpose. A butcher may use knife to cut meat and a lady may use a knife to cut fruit for a salad. If all the knives are put in a circle with a magnet at the center, the magnet will equally attract all the knives. The good or bad is not in the knives.
God is the magnet and all men are attracted to God. Good and bad are not in a human being, but in the way the mind is used.
Do not fill the mind with thoughts of the evil actions that may be perceived in the world. The purpose of all types of Sadhana is to train the mind to see the Divine in everything. That is true adjustment Sadhana. This you can carry on in everything you do. I am always ready. Give your life to me. Be my instrument. I act through you.
FAITH IN THE DIVINE IS SINGLE AND CANNOT BE GAINED BY REASON.
EITHER THERE IS, OR THERE IS NOT FAITH.
